Certainly, Webinars has to be prepared to "deliver the goods" when her boss needs travel, but she's a lot of leeway when creating her own agenda. They could work from their own home or a different space. In reality, they could be wherever they enjoy--a customer's office, the library, the coffee shop, the shore they feel content and productive.
Other workers say they enjoy looking over their shoulder, being almost completely responsible for themselves with no manager or manager hanging around their desk or forcing them for work results. Many employees who prefer the independence of working in a virtual office environment say they are spared the bother, distraction and negative office politics found in the conventional office setting.
For these staff members, seeing other employees on a computer or video conferencing display simply does not replace personal contact.
Another drawback is it's too easy find a distraction rather than doing one's work, run an errand or to begin work late. Often, these behaviors are a means of compensating for the shortage of having other individuals to socialize with.
In the virtual office, it sometimes takes more time to get advice, particularly when an alternate, or the crucial person, isn't available.
